Well, last week we shaked one hell of a cocktail, this week we will use the muddler! It's a different way of making cocktails, if you follow this blog you will learn all the tips and tricks of making and creating the perfect drinks.

I hope you have all your equipment ready to start? Here's what you need :

  • A muddler

  • A Bar-spoon

  • An Old-Fashioned glass

  • Cutting board

Ingredients :

  • ½ lime, cut into thirds

  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar

  • 2½ ounces cachaca (Brazilian rum)

  • 3 raspberries, plus more for garnish

“I cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food.” W.C. Fields

So now that we have everything ready, we can start making this cocktail!

  1. In a Old-Fashioned glass, squeeze and drip the lime wedges into the glass.

  2. Add the sugar and raspberries and muddle together (muddling is the same like giving gas on a mobile bike, but in a different direction ;)...)

  3. Pour in the rum and add crushed ice to fill (like 3/4 ice).

  4. Then take your Bar spoon and place it straight up in your glas, then gently keep the spoon against the rim and make big O's.

  5. Fill up with crushed ice.

  6. Garnish with a few fresh raspberries, dried raspberries or lime.

“There are two kinds of people I don't trust: people who don't drink and people who collect stickers.”

A raspberry Caipirinha is a different take on the normal Caipirinha, the normal one is actually not with muddled fruit but just with lime juice (you can also make that one if you just leave out the part of muddling the raspberries). I chose to show you this one because it gives a kick and shows you that there are many ways of making a very simple cocktail taste so much different just by adding one or two ingredients. If you don't like raspberries you can also use different kind of fruits, like strawberries, blueberries, kiwis or even peaches! So first make this raspberry one and if you feel like you professionalized this one, start making different takes on it! You can always let me know by reposting them @tt.tasty or leaving a comment. If you got questions about making the cocktail just let me know and I'll be there to help you out.

Cheers!
